400 Years of Vincentian work

400 Years of Vincentian Generosity

Mini Vinnies from St Edward’s Runcorn attended the magnificent celebration of 400 years of Vincentian work and spirituality at Liverpool Cathedral.

Mrs Ann Farrell, MV Coordinator at St Edward’s stated, “It was a very moving and spiritual event.

The most Reverend Archbishop Malcolm McMahon celebrated Mass for over 1000 people. St Edward’s Mini Vinnies were invited to carry the flags in the procession. It was such a privilege for them.”
All the Mini Vinnies who attended were invited by the Archbishop to the foot of the sanctuary, facing the altar to be commissioned.  They then said the Mini Vinnies prayer and pledge
and the Archbishop invited the congregation to join him in prayer for the Mini Vinnies.”

Mrs Farrell went on to say,
“It was a great experience for them as they now realise how many more people are involved in the charitable work that Mini Vinnies and the whole SVP family do, and are even more eager to do God's work.”

It was a fantastic afternoon that we didn't want to end.  My Mini Vinnies have been inspired and moved by the whole experience.  For some it was their first time inside a cathedral too!

A big thank you to all those in the St Vincent de Paul Society who organised this celebration.
God bless.”
