ST. VINCENT'S ALTRINCHAM
WORKING TOGETHER FOR THOSE IN NEED
Following our successful Christmas Shoebox campaign, the Mini Vinnies at St. Vincent's Altrincham are also having a very busy Lent. Firstly, we have been leading a "Fairtrade fortnight" campaign across the school; building awareness about Fairtrade issues like better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. The whole school, along with members of the parish SVP will be enjoying Fairtrade breaktime together to sample how good the products taste.
Closer to home, we have been knitting Easter chicks to sell in order to raise funds for a local children's hospice. This has been a great way to get both parents and grandparents involved in knitting for a worthy cause. The chicks are steadily multiplying and the family are now a rainbow of colours - they will be sold after Sunday morning mass throughout Lent.
